Tafaria Castle is a Country Lodge, Conference Centre, a Museum and a Centre for the Arts located on a hill halfway between Nyeri and Nyahururu next to the Aberdare Ranges overlooking the Laikipia plains. The Castle building houses the main reception, the Ballroom used for dining, the Moat bar, the Dungeon with a disco and big screen cinema, the Bailey coffee lounge the Lord's room, the Chamber and the Lord's court. The Castle is surrounded by the swimming pool, tennis court, conference centre, the look-out-deck, horse stables, the centre for the arts and various accommodation quarters. Tafaria has 58 rooms in its various residential quarters, (2 suites, 7 deluxe, 11 superior rooms, 37 standars rooms ) with a capacity of up to 160pax in different configurations. The Castle building has the Lord's room, the Chamber and seven rooms in the Lord's Court. The rest of the rooms are located around the Castle. Tafaria leisure activities include horseback riding, horse carriage (Chariot/Landau) riding, swimming, archery, lawn tennis, kids park, basketball, medieval bowling, outdoor gym, art tour, game drives, hiking in the park, scenic park drives, bird watching, yoga, volleyball, badminton, cycling, disco, big screen cinema and indoor games such as pool table and table tennis. Tafaria is an ideal location for conferencing and team building due to its tranquil location away from distractions and the large open spaces plus indoor & outdoor meeting areas. The conference centre has three meeting rooms: the Roundtable, The Horseshoe, and the Think-Tank, all together can accommodating up to 300pax.
