Casa de São Lourenço - Burel Panorama Hotel, opened in 2018 and is the new and only 5-star Mountain hotel in Portugal, at 1250 m of altitude. It has panoramic views of the Mountain, the Glacial Valley and the village of Manteigas. The property has 17 rooms and 4 suites, all different and panoramic. With an extreme comfort, decorated with burel and design pieces. The rooms have private balconies and access to a garden of autochthonous species. The restaurant has a full view of the mountain range across its large windows. The theme is Portuguese cuisine, where the freshness and seasonality of the mountain ingredients are privileged, seasoned with the innovation of the Chef, without losing their unique authenticity. In the summer, it is possible to dive in the pure warm waters of the lagoons very close to the hotel, explore them on a kayak, and discover the rivers that begin their journey down the mountain. The unit offers daily guided tours to Burel Factory, a heritage wool factory, where 19th century looms produce woolen products, blankets and burel, a typical Portuguese fabric whose references go back to the 11th century.
