Situated on the Ayrshire coastline, Trump Turnberry, a Luxury Collection Resort, Scotland is the perfect place to spark imaginations and creativity and is just one hour from Glasgow and 30 minutes from Prestwick Airport. Turnberry is famous for its two Championship golf courses, the Ailsa and the Kintyre. The Ailsa, host of the 1977, 1986, 1994 and 2009 Open Championship, is ranked among the world's best. An extensive 18 month refurbishment programme is now underway and the resort will re-launch on 1 June 2016 when the redesigned Open Championship golf course, the Ailsa, will be available for play for the first time. Trump Turnberry hotel will also re-open its doors following an extensive upgrade which includes the lavish refurbishment of all hotel bedrooms to the same, world leading standard. This instantly recognisable traditional Edwardian building is set across three levels and first opened in 1906 as the world's first golf resort. It boasts an oceanside setting with far reaching views to the isle of Arran and the Mull of Kintyre. Through the renovation all bedrooms in the hotel building will be refurbished to create a reflection of the indigenous nature of the resort and its rich history. Each features a large, marble bathroom, with many offering exceptional views across the Championship links golf courses across to the Irish Sea. The Ailsa course is the legendary host of four Open Championships in 1977, 1986, 1994, 2009. Currently, it is under construction overseen by renowned architects Mackenzie & Ebert. Trump Turnberry also has the 18 hole Kintyre course, which remains open during this time. The newly renovated clubhouse features an extended professional shop, refurbished meeting rooms and The Duel in the Sun restaurant for relaxed dining.
